BCC General Catalog Design 2010-2012 Essay
1. In my design project two, the design principles emphasis , contrast, balance ,flow, alignment and reputation has been unified in balance so that visual communication represents the college mission statement and engages an appropriate audience. In my project I showed community and technology working together as a community school. The photo I chose focused on community and socialization together with learning in a technical school as the main focal point of the cover. The colors are warm and inviting. On the top and bottom of the cover circular design with three photos in each one depicting the type of work and learning that goes on here at the Broome Community College. The main emphasis focuses on the background photo of the cover. Contrast and is designed jumps out at you with a use of the black and red colors. The circular designed displays balance in the typography used to design the 2010 2012 General Catalog displays alignment. The use of colors in this cover design displays flow and reputation. The reputation of the red and black combo, and the flow of colors throughout the photo, is dynamic and inviting to the eye. This project was a learning experience and I enjoyed it very much.
